CAREER EXPLORATION

The agribusiness industry has so many different types of careers to offer. You might be surprised at how large the selection of jobs in agribusiness. Our hope is to make educators and students aware of the jobs that are available and in demand in West Michigan. Below are resources for teachers to know what types of rewarding careers in agribusiness are available. If you are looking for more specific resources, please contact us!

MICHIGAN AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM

Michigan Agriculture in the Classroom aims to raise awareness of the value of agriculture. They create education material across all education levels that are standard aligned and view subjects like science, language arts, and social studies through an agricultural lens.

CASE COURSES

CASE (Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education) Courses provide full-length course material for a variety of agriculture sciences. They also provide BriefCASEs which are shorter courses. Educators can be certified in teaching these courses in a short amount of time.

AGEXPLORER

AgExplorer helps students discover the range of careers in agribusiness. It is a comprehensive tool for career exploration with videos. Their Career Finder interactive tool is a fantastic tool for helping students learn which career might be right for them.

AMERICAN FARM BUREAU FOUNDATION FOR AGRICULTURE

The free resources from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture provide lesson plans for all school ages. Resources are separated into activities and lessons by grade level.

CAREERS IN AGRICULTURE

This is a collection of videos produced by Utah State University Extension. They give a short look into many of the job in the agribusiness industry. From soil scientist and wildlife biologist to cheese plant manager and cereal chemist, explore a large selection of careers that are available.
